We’re just bursting with pride and excitement that our latest and greatest opus has garnered more than a little industry recognition from The Contemporary A cappella Recording Awards committee. “Peppermint Winter” has been nominated for 2 awards: “Best Holiday Album”, and “Best Holiday Song” (for “Santa And I Know It”). If you’re unsure as to what exactly the “CARA’s” are, you can read more about them here and while you’re there, check out all the other great acts that were nominated. Winners will be announced at the beginning of April, so stay tuned to TheVoicePlay.com for updates.

We’d like to start this post out by saying that a mere thank you doesn’t begin to plumb the depth of the over-whelming gratitude our silly little hearts feel towards all of you. And we do mean ALL of you.
Why the sudden out-pouring of smushiness? Well, it’s very simple really. Unless you’ve been hiding under a past-it’s-freshness-date Hostess Twinkie somewhere, you’ll know that we’ve just returned to our homes in Orlando after having been on the road the for almost 3 months; undertaking our first national tour. How’d it go?
Well, funny you should ask…
And now that we’re safely home, I can let you in on a secret… Creating and performing that show was the most difficult and gratifying undertaking of our careers.
What you saw on tour and what you see today on the web is a brand new name, two new faces, and a whole mess of new ideas, material, music, albums, and creativity that took the better part of 2012 to create. When I say we didn’t sleep for a few months, I’m sure you’ll believe it. We made a deliberate decision to make something amazing, fun, and new happen, and with your help we did.
So thank you.
Thank you for liking our ridiculous photos on Facebook.
Thank you for buying our music on iTunes .
Thank you for grabbing an extra album for your friend at one of our live shows.
Thank you for chatting with us on twitter.
Thank you for all of your incredibly flattering emails and messages.
Thank you to every venue that provided us something to eat after we’d driven all night and worked all day. You have no idea how much that meant.
Thank you to all of the students we met that continue to spread the word and keep us in your thoughts.
Thank you for smiling and laughing and clapping at all of our untested material. It’s fantastic to see an audience respond to an idea that we cautiously breathed life into.
Thank you to all of our stage volunteers that made us smile and laugh with your unexpected hilarity.
Thank you to all of the stage crews, technical directors, drama teachers, and band and chorus directors we met who had such profound passion for their profession.
Thank you to the audience in Maryland that pretended not to notice when Layne had to keep leaving stage to vomit because of a miserable case of food poisoning.
Thank you for throwing marshmallows at us.
Thank you for welcoming us into your lives and your hearts.
Thank you to each and every one of you.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Keep singing. Keep creating. Keep playing. We’ll see you soon.
-Earl, Layne, Eli, Tony, & Geoff
Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you’re having as much fun as we are!
