I am the cat chair of a no-kill animal shelter in my area. Currently I wrangle 51 cats and kittens, feeding, cleaning, vetting, loving them until we find their forever homes. I work a part-time retail job to help support my non-paying one…retired from teaching Pre-K!

Avid reader. I try to always have a book nearby for any spare time that arises. Horror/urban fantasy is my jam! Poe is The Man. (Used to manage a bookstore!)

I live Halloween as much as possible! Spooky/gothic is my vibe. My library is full of bats, ghosts, ravens, owls. (No witches though!)

Huge Harry Potter fan! Love the books, mostly love the movies! Have cosplayed as Fawkes the Phoenix at conventions and LeakyCon.

I cruise a lot with family from Galveston, lots of sun and tranquil sandy beaches. Memories made on a ship are sweet ones!

I attend Renaissance Festivals in the spring and fall, dressed in garb, eating all the things, soaking up the atmosphere, the music, the people.

My Krewe of Fevre Dream has walked in the Krewe of Momus Grande Night Parade in Galveston every year since 1989. We throw beads and doubloons, dressed in lavish costumes supporting the theme. Nothing says power like a string of cheap beads…

Music completes me, all genres, all eras. Music is the icing on the cake of daily living. Music holds the memories of the past. The right song triggers a thousand emotions, some happy, some bittersweet, but all are remembrances of life in all its stages.

I think a sense of humor gets one through the hardest of times. As I get older, I really do consider it a superpower. And the more off kilter someone is, the more I enjoy the interaction.
