We Have Some News
This is not going be an easy post to read just as it isn’t an easy post to write. We’ve been struggling with how to present this news to all of you and after much discussion, we’ve decided there’s nothing for it but to rip off the bandage and give this wound some air and time to heal.
Our friend and fellow harmony junkie of forever, Earl, will no longer be performing with VoicePlay.
This is a man who we’ve shared the stage with for decades of our lives and has been a big part of the beating heart of VoicePlay for as long as we’ve been making music together. Earl was down for the struggle, and we’ll miss him being with us in ways we can’t even imagine yet or begin to express. Though we all tried to bend the arc of circumstance in a different direction, ultimately, we’ve decided to part ways.
We’re sure that you have innumerable questions that you’d like to ask us and we’re happy to answer anything that we’re able in whatever way we can. Until then, we’d ask that you support Earl in all of his future endeavors and respect his privacy if that is what he’s looking for at this time. If you’re wondering where you can send Earl good vibes and all the loves, you can give him virtual hugs @Earlzshore on instagram. Be prepared for many muscle-y gym photos and beard care tips.
It is the end of an age, but it is by no means the end of VoicePlay and during this time of transition, we’ve put together a brand new video for you that we’re ready to release for you tomorrow. Like so many other instances, we believe the music will say everything that our failing words can’t.
While we’ll feel the absence of Earl forever and be nostalgic for times gone by, we’re looking forward with optimism to meeting the new high harmony singer in VoicePlay.
So, here’s to Earl. Crack yourself open a Diet Mountain Dew and raise it high in honor of our buddy who is moving on from VoicePlay in pursuit of his happiness in other places. We wish him only the best. We hope you’ll do the same.
Keep on smiling,
Layne, Geoff, Eli, & J
